Some of our favourites from the new catalogue!
With so many exciting new wines being featured in our autumn catalogue, some of the Camperdown Cellars crew decided to sit down with a few of them and share our thoughts.
We started with almost 30 wines and had a good deal of trouble narrowing the field. We had hoped to find a top 10 but as it turned out there was 13 wines we couldn’t spilt. We were looking for balance and interest, but above all drinkability and value for money.
Download our new catalogue from the homepage and check out our full review on pages 10 and 11. Here is a small taste...
SAINT CLAIR GRUNER VELTLINER 2011
“I always forget about Gruner, shame on me! Showing luscious vanilla bean floral aromas and a hint of star anise on the nose, it’s clearly a bit different. Apricot fruit, more spice and wonderfully creamy in the mouth this is yum yum all the way especially as it finishes dry and clean.”
KANTA RIESLING 2009
An unexpected delight from a tiny winery in the Adelaide Hills, this wine had everyone talking. “Fresh pear and lychee upfront, with enticing aroma's of lime curd and green apple in the mouth. Great textured mouthfeel reminiscent of some Mosel Rieslings I've tried and a good wallop of white pepper on the finish. I loved this, it's light enough to enjoy on its and has the palate weight almost any food pairing.”
