The team at Camperdown Cellars have decades of experience in the liquor trade and a passion for learning more. Feel free to phone any of the crew if you have any queries about particular products; here's a little on what makes them tick.
Rip Viropoulos (Managing Director)
Rip began with Camperdown Cellars 25 years ago, becoming a partner in the business in 2001. He has a passion for smart business, exceptional customer service, cycling, food and fancy cars. As the big chief, Rip oversees all 6 stores doing his best to keep our customers, suppliers and the team happy. A casual interest in Pinot Noir keeps him happy.
Colin McGregor (Operations Manager)
Colin had his palate whipped in to shape while managing Oddbins stores in his home nation of Scotland, Fortunately for Camperdown Cellars it was a couple of months into a year travelling through Australia that he met his Aussie love and decided to settle in Sydney. Chancing upon Camperdown Cellars at the end of 2008 Colin has been with the team off and on since.
Colin has an interest in all aspects of liquor but has recently become enchanted with the vast range of craft beer available in Australia. When not working on the 500+ strong range of beers in store, you might find him getting his dram on at his new favourite bar, the Baxter Inn.
Danielle Kennedy (Marketing Manager)
After a chance encounter 15 years ago with a bottle of St Hubert's Roussanne it became apparent to Danielle that there was more to wine than the cask of fruity white in her parent's drinks fridge. The years that followed took her to almost every corner of Australia working in the wine industry eventually landing in the Camperdown Cellars team in late 2010.
Danielle loves Riesling, the smell of a winery during vintage and swimming in tanks of fermenting Pinot Noir.
Chris White (Store Operations)
As one of the many "boomerang" members of our team, Chris has worked a couple of stints with Camperdown Cellars beginning in 2004 and staying for 4 years. After a 3 year hiatus of study and travel Chris saw the light and returned in 2011. His current role includes assisting with rosters, banking and generally supporting the stores with their day to day operations.
When not at work Chris enjoys motorbike riding, cycling, live music, computers and travelling.
Romy Delage (Store Manager -Darlinghurst)
Romuald worked as a chef for 10 years while travelling in Europe where he met his Australian bride who shared his passion for wine. Romuald completed two diplomas in viticulture and oenology near his home town in Bordeaux before moving to Australia and joining Camperdown Cellars in 2004. He took a two year break back in France to reshape his palate working in Saint Emilion and rejoined the team in 2009.
Romy tells us this time, he's back for good!
Craig Lycett (Store Manager -Bronte)
Craig joined the industry as a fresh faced young lad in 1998. While managing various liquor stores around Sydney he fell in love with wine, particularly its diversity. Craig says his favourite part of the liquor industry is trying new wines, discovering the different styles from the vast number of wineries, winemakers, regions and climates and converting customers to new and interesting wines.
Craig can often be found out enjoying the restaurant and pub scene in the local neighbourhood, or down at the beach for a quick dip during his lunch break.
